We have officially hit the mid free agency mark where teams start to call it quits, but there are still a few quality players out there, i.e. Vladimir Tarasenko.
Boston's cap space has consistently been a problem and has caused Don Sweeney to make a few tough decisions. So, we're going to review who the Bruins lost and who the Bruins signed.
Let's start with who they gained. The Bruins got the following players:
Milan Lucic (1 year, $1 million), Morgan Geekie (2 years, $4 million), Kevin Shattenkirk (1 year, $1,050,000), James van Riemsdyk (1 year, $1 million), and Patrick Brown (2 years, $1,600,000).
And now who they lost:
Tyler Bertuzzi (signed with the Maple Leafs), Garnet Hathaway (signed with the Flyers), Chris Wagner (signed with the Avalanche), Dimitry Orlov (traded to the Bruins at the trade deadline, signed with the Hurricanes), Connor Clifton (signed with the Sabres).
It'll be interesting to see what else the Bruins do this free agency.
