The Boston Bruins have made significant changes to their coaching and scouting staff, aiming to strengthen their organizational depth.

In a recent team announcement, John McLean has been appointed as an assistant coach. McLean previously served as a skills and skating consultant within the Bruins organization.

Alongside McLean's appointment, the Bruins have revamped their scouting department. Key changes include the following:

Dan Darrow has taken on the role of Assistant Video Coordinator, bringing experience from the San Jose Sharks and UMass-Lowell.

Josh Pohlkamp-Hartt, with five years of experience in the team's analytics department, is now the Associate Director of Hockey Analytics.
Campbell Weaver has been named Director of Hockey Systems, following four seasons working alongside Pohlkamp-Hartt in analytics.

Derek MacKinnon joins the Bruins as a Pro Scout, bringing two decades of NHL experience, including a significant tenure with the Calgary Flames.

Milan Jurcina, a former Bruins defenseman, has been named European Scout, utilizing his insights and connections in the Czech and Slovak regions.

John McLean's role will primarily focus on skills and skating development, and he won't be on the bench during games, as he takes on a development-oriented assistant coaching position. This adjustment follows the departure of John Gruden, who accepted a head coaching role with the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

These organizational changes reflect the Bruins' commitment to enhancing their coaching and scouting capabilities as they prepare for the upcoming season.
