In a heartfelt parting gesture, the Boston Bruins shared their best wishes for Danielle Marmer, who was recently named one of the six general managers for the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).

Having served as the player development and scouting assistant with the Bruins last season, Marmer now steps into a more prominent role as the GM of Boston's PWHL franchise.

Don Sweeney, expressing the Bruins' excitement for Danielle Marmer's unique opportunity, shared in a statement on social media,

«The Boston Bruins are excited for Danielle Marmer and this unique opportunity. Our organization will certainly miss Danielle and the impact that was made on both our staff and our players. We wish Danielle success in her new endeavor!»

With the initial free agency period set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, teams have a ten-day window to shape their rosters before the 2023 PWHL Draft scheduled for September 18.

Boston has been announced to hold the third pick in the first round, setting the stage for building their competitive squad.

In an introductory video released by the PWHL Boston franchise, Marmer expressed her dedication to building a competitive team that aligns with Boston's tradition of vying for championships year after year.

She stated,

« I know you want a competitive team that vies for championships year after year, that's just how Boston is. And I'm committed to building a team that this city will be proud of. »

The PWHL has laid out plans to commence its 24-game regular season in January. However, a comprehensive schedule has yet to be released as of Friday morning.
