Now, in a surprising turn of events, Gomez is embarking on a new chapter of his hockey journey. This time, it's not under the bright NHL lights, but in the Junior A ranks of the BCHL as an assistant coach for the Surrey Eagles.

The announcement resonated throughout the hockey community, with Scott Gomez making his entrance as an assistant coach for the Surrey Eagles (@scottycgomez). With 1,079 NHL games under his belt, the 43-year-old veteran player showcased his skills with teams like New Jersey, Montreal, San Jose, Florida, St. Louis, and Ottawa. Scoring 181 goals and amassing 756 points, Gomez's impact is undeniable.

Gomez's transition from player to mentor has been a natural progression. Prior to his current role, he gained coaching experience as an assistant coach for the New York Islanders from 2017 to 2019.
