Montgomery is Set To Give Newly Acquired Forward a Massive Role
Alex Chiasson, even though he's with the Bruins on a trial basis, seems to have already caught Montgomery's attention.
Montgomery is considering putting the 32-year-old forward in front of the net for the team's second power-play unit. Montgomery explained,
"I noticed how challenging it was to defend against Detroit's power play when he was at the net front in our past matchups. So, there's a specific role he could potentially excel in for our team."
Last season, Chiasson earned an NHL contract with Detroit after spending the year on an AHL contract with their affiliate in Grand Rapids. He made an impact by scoring six goals and nine points in 20 games during the final stretch of the regular season, and seven of those points were scored during power plays.
