This message along with the thousands and many tributes across North America over the past 48 hours have been remarkable after the NHL and all the fanbase learned of the tragic deaths of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew who were killed on August 29th by an apparent drunk driver while cycling on a County Road in New Jersey.
Players like Shattenkirk who would be either played with Gaudreau or knew him through either the All-Star break or in general have been offering their sympathies to the families and expressing their sorrow for such a tragic loss.
General managers also weighed in on the loss including Gaudreau's former Flames general manager Brad Treliving who is currently the GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to the families.
