After the Boston Bruins were eliminated, Jake DeBrusk came out and revealed that he was playing through a horrible injury basically all season.

Speaking to the media after being knocked out by the Florida Panthers, Jake DeBrusk revealed why he struggled during the regular season.

DeBrusk admitted that he was playing with a broken hand just before the bye week and it never fully healed until about a week before the playoffs.

#NHLBruins winger Jake DeBrusk just told the media that he played with a broken left hand from just before the bye week until just before the playoffs.

Without a doubt Jake DeBrusk was one of the Bruins best players during the playoffs, putting up 5 goals, 6 assists, 11 points in 13 games for the Bruins during their run.

This would explain why DeBrusk struggled during the regular season, when many thought he was going to have a break out year.

It'll be interesting to see if the Bruins decide to re-sign DeBrusk or let him walk in free agency.
