Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney has officially completed a surprising roster transaction.

Yesterday marked the Bruins first game back from the holiday break, and it was an embarrassing one for the entire team.

Ahead of the game it was announced that the Boston Bruins had recalled Marc McLaughlin from the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League and now the Bruins have made another surprising roster move.

Marc McLaughlin did not play after being recalled from the American Hockey League yesterday for the Bruins and has not played since December 19th when the Bruins faced the Edmonton Oilers.

There is speculation that the Bruins are not playing McLaughlin because once he plays his next NHL game he will require waivers to be sent back down to the AHL and the Bruins don't wanna lose him on the waiver wire.

Marc McLaughlin will require waivers again if he plays one more game in Boston. Don't know if that's why he draws out, but it could be a factor. I think he's been playing well.

Today as the Boston Bruins prepare to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets once again, they have reportedly sent Marc McLaughlin back down to the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League.

The Bruins will now play their final game in the 2024 calendar year and will look to end it with a big win against the Columbus Blue Jackets
