Bruins Prospect Frontrunner for AHL Rookie of the Year

Despite being regarding as one of the worst prospect pools in the NHL, the Boston Bruins have had multiple players prove critics wrong.
Most notably, forward Georgii Merkulov, who's current hot streak has him in the running for some special hardware at the end of the season.
Pacing All AHL Rookies
With a recent tear of 5 goals and 3 assists in his past seven games, Merkulov now leads all freshman in points, helping pace a first place Providence Bruins team.
The undrafted forward currently leads the club with 23 goals and 28 assists in 59 games, also pacing all rookies in total points.
Will the 22-year-old get a look in the NHL as soon as this season?
