The Boston Bruins, after yesterday night's 5-4 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators, are officially out of a wild card spot, and the Senators took it. The Bruins have been on a downward slide for the last few games now, and fans are calling for some type of change.

Well, things aren't getting any better today, as first line center Pavel Zacha was nowhere to be seen at practice today. Oliver Wahlstrom took his place with Morgan Geekie and David Pastrnak on the first line and Charlie Coyle took a place on the first power play unit.

Pavel Zacha being out is not what you want to see if you're a Boston fan, even if he hasn't been the best and has been inconsistent as of late. The last thing Boston needs is another injury.

Now, with Wahlstrom taking Zacha's reps, it is most likely just a maintenance day. But with the Bruins not doing great and with Zacha's play on the fence and you're now one place out of the wild card in the second half of the season, shouldn't everybody be practicing?

Zacha happened to score a power play goal last night in what feels like the first power play goal in forever for the B's on a beautiful feed from Pastrnak when Zacha was cutting to the net and tucked it in on his backhand. If the power play finally clicked, they should be building on that as well.

While this just being a maintenance day is most likely, it is possible that a trade could maybe be looming and Boston is looking to shake some things up and moving Zacha could be in the cards. Zacha has 26 points in 47 games so far this season with 11 goals, but that's less of what's expected of him.

Either way, Boston has to pick up their play, and a series of bad decisions have put them in this situation. They need all hands on deck.
