The Boston Bruins have just announced a massive move with fan favourite Matt Poitras and it's left fans shocked.

Following their 6-5 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, multiple Bruins insiders were not happy with how the Boston Bruins were handling Matt Poitras after being recalled from the American Hockey League.

This season, Poitras has been averaging 12:41 of ice time with the Bruins, and during their last game Poitras only saw 10:32 of ice time while being benched in the third period, and only playing two shifts with just over 1 minute of ice time.

Matt Poitras had about ONE MINUTE of ice time in the third period across two shifts (~46 seconds and ~16 seconds)

Poitras also had ZERO powerplay time.

If you're going to call him up, play him.

Many were also not happy that the Boston Bruins have not been giving Matt Poitras any time on the power play, especially since how their power play is currently ranked 30th in the league with a 13.3%.

Embarrassing loss. There's zero reason why Poitras isn't on your power play after watching him in that Overtime.

Well today, the Boston Bruins made a shocking move with Matt Poitras.

At practice this morning it was announced that the Bruins have officially placed Poitras on the second power play unit with Jordan Oesterle, Morgan Geekie, Vinni Lettieri, and Justin Brazeau.

Take a look:

PP1: Lohrei, Pastrnak, Marchand, Lindholm, Coyle
PP2: Oesterle, Geekie, Poitras, Lettieri, Brazeau

It's about time, Poitras has definitely earned it, and can definitely give you some better looks on the power play then some of the other Bruins players can.
