Some troubling news was just reported regarding Boston Bruins star defenseman Charlie McAvoy and it's not good.
The Boston Bruins have been without star defenseman Charlie McAvoy since the end of the moms trip when they took on the Florida Panthers on January 11th.
There is a lot of speculation that it has something to do with his thumb, as the Bruins posted an off ice video, and in it you could see Charlie McAvoy's thumb/wrist was tapped up.
Charlie McAvoy the past couple of practices had been skating prior to the Bruins team practice, but he did not skate today at all.
Following the Bruins last game on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators, Charlie McAvoy was supposed to get re-evaluated by the Bruins medical team, but McAvoy did not skate at all today, which could indicate that it is something worse then what they originally expected it to be.
With McAvoy being out, Mason Lohrei has been taking advantage of his opportunities, and he now currently leads all Boston Bruins defenseman with points on the year.
In 42 games this season, Mason Lohrei leads all Boston Bruins defenseman with 2 goals, 19 assists and 21 points.
During their game against the Ottawa Senators, Lohrei picked up 2 assists in 17:08 ice time.
