The Boston Bruins recently claimed Oliver Wahlstrom off of waivers, as a hometown kid there could be nothing more exciting than playing the B's.
For Wahlstrom, it's a dream come true, but for fans, it's been a disappointment.
He's played only 10 games for the Bruins this season and has only contributed a goal during his time here.
Wahlstrom has seen his production decline rapidly in New York, and it appears that a fresh start in Boston isn't the answer either.
Fans are calling for Wahlstrom to be traded, and honestly, who can blame them?
The Bruins are holding onto hope with Wahlstrom, while they hold back players like Fabian Lysell and Georgii Merkulov.
Two prospects who could provide an immediate impact in the Bruins lineup wherever they would be placed.
This season in Providence, both prospects continue to light the AHL up as they have the year prior.
Merkulov has played 34 games in Providence this season and scored at almost a point-per-game rate.
He's scored 32 points (10 G, 22 A) in 34 games and shows no signs of stopping this year.
He played 3 games for the Bruins this season and contributed 1 point( 1 A) and honestly should get another look in the NHL.
Fabian Lysell has played 31 games in the AHL with the P-Bruins and scored 21 points( 5 G, 16 A).
Lysell is also a former 50-point forward in the AHL and should be afforded another look in the NHL.
However, the status quo remains unchanged according to the ways of GM Don Sweeney and President Cam Neely.
