The Boston Bruins have opened up discussions on its important players recently after trading winger Trent Frederic. Could this be a sign that Captain Brad Marchand is next on the list to be moved?
The Boston Bruins have officially opened their floodgates today, as they traded winger Trent Frederic to the Edmonton Oilers.
The move brought in an ample amount of assets, including defenseman Max Wanner. Now, the team has stated they'll listen in on players such as Charlie Coyle, Pavel Zacha, Morgan Geekie, and Brandon Carlo.
The Bruins will be getting a face-lift in the future if GM Don Sweeney continues on the route he's on.
Could Captain Brad Marchand be part of that face-lift? He is out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
A Brad Marchand trade would be expensive for the next team that decides to make the move.

If the Bruins do end up trading Marchand to the Avalanche, they wouldn't be getting the same scoring threat we've seen the past six years.
It'll just be a top-nine winger who still can contribute significant minutes and production on a nightly basis.
However, not at an elite top-six level like David Pastrnak. So our expectations will have to be adjusted.
Human Element
What's missing in all of this is the fact that fans, and Marchand himself would mourn a move from Boston. Especially if there's no path for him to return.
A trade while on IR would be a significant blow to his morale, and shows business matters more than anything.
Either way, the Bruins have to decide what their next steps are with Marchand.
