With the NHL trade deadline now just four days away, the Boston Bruins have cleared a roster spot this morning and speculation has surfaced regarding a potential trade incoming.

Around this time of the year in the NHL, there is a lot of speculation, and anytime a move is made, a lot of fans automatically think a trade is happening, but the move the Bruins made today could suggest one of three things.
Today, the Boston Bruins made a roster move sending Ian Mitchell back down to the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League.
#NHLBruins have assigned defenseman Ian Mitchell to Providence.
The Boston Bruins also confirmed this move did happen:
It was reported that Ian Mitchell was present at the Providence Bruins morning skate today.
Providence Bruins taking the ice for practice. Ian Mitchell, sent down from Boston, is here. Georgii Merkulov and Jeffrey Viel are not. Presumably they're still up
Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal, but they have two injured defenseman in McAvoy, and Lindholm, and they did not recall anyone.

Bruins Set To Make A Move?

This could could mean one of three things, either the Boston Bruins are getting Charlie McAvoy back today (highly unlikely), it could also mean that another roster move will be announced later, or the Bruins are opening up a roster spot to make a trade.
The Boston Bruins are in a tough situation right now, they currently sit just two points out of a wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference, but every team fighting for a spot has games in hand on them.
Approaching the deadline, the Bruins are more then likely going to be sellers, and it's hard to see them making this move due to a trade incoming, but you never know exactly what is going to happen.
