With just four days left until the NHL trade deadline is here, Don Cherry called out the Boston Bruins, and provided an explanation on why the organization has struggled this season.

The Boston Bruins once again lost last night to the Minnesota Wild, and are slowly falling down the list of teams competing for a playoff spot.
Once again the Bruins had a hard time finding the back of the net as they were shutout by the Wild, and this highlighted the lack of depth the team has in their lineup this year, and injuries have not helped the fact for the Boston Bruins.
Currently the Bruins are without Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy, Trent Frederic, and Hampus Lindholm, and the team has had a problem bringing energy to the lineup with these players out.
Bruins head coach Joe Sacco spoke on the Bruins most recent struggles, and also talked about their 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders:
"That's two out of the last three where we have to find a way to put the puck in. Whether it's creating more traffic at the net, having more of a shot mindset, playing off the shot more, creating some more two-for-ones-just getting to the interior.

I thought two games ago against the Islanders, even though we didn't grab one, we had better looks. I thought Minnesota did a good job trying to keep us to the outside. We have to find a way to get into the interior more."
Don Cherry does not believe that the Bruins just have a lack of offense this year.
In his recent podcast, Cherry went on to call out the Boston Bruins stating they made too many trades, and have lost the meaning of the Big Bad Bruins stating they lost their grit.
In his own words:
"Something happened to the Bruins. Somebody said something or did something, or did something-something's wrong with the Bruins."

"I think the Boston Bruins made too many trades and got rid of their grit. That's the story."

"I don't know if they'll make the playoffs, but tough-pretty tough to jump over."

Since 2023, the Boston Bruins have parted ways with some big tough guys including Tyler Bertuzzi, Nick Foligno and Pat Maroon, and they did not replace them.
The Boston Bruins identity and culture have always been their key to success, but it seems like they are flipping the page on a new era.
