There is some speculation that the Boston Bruins may be starting to healthy scratch some of their trade candidates in their upcoming games.
This is a move a lot of NHL teams do whenever the trade deadline approaches as they don't want to risk their trade candidates getting injured, and recently we saw this happen with the Nashville Predators as they healthy scratched Gustav Nyquist, and then he was later traded in the same day.
The #NYR are holding Reilly Smith out of the lineup again tonight for "roster management purposes" after also keeping him out yesterday.
The pending UFA is expected to be on the move before Friday's trade deadline.
This is the second game in a row that Reilly Smith is going to be healthy scratched, and a move is more then likely to take place soon or at the NHL trade deadline.
Bruins Set To Healthy Scratch Multiple Forwards Due To Trade Reasons
Today, a Boston Bruins insider stated that he thinks the Boston Bruins should be holding Morgan Geekie and Justin Brazeau out of the lineup for their next two games just in case they want to make a trade, and do not risk injuring them.
if I'm the Bruins I'm holding Geekie & Brazeau out of the lineup the next two games just in case. give some Providence players that are waiver ineligible an attaboy here while you figure out what you are going to do friday.
Both Geekie, and Brazeau have been involved in a lot of trade rumours this season, and a lot of reports have suggested that they may be on the move at the NHL trade deadline.
Holding them out for health reasons would be a great move by Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney.
