Boston Bruins issue an emotional goodbye to Trent Frederic following recent trade

The Boston Bruins completed a three-way trade on Tuesday, sending forward Trent Frederic to the Edmonton Oilers in a move that may not make sense to some, and now the Bruins take accountability as they issue an emotional goodbye message to the 27-year old forward.
Trent Frederic joined the Boston Bruins organization in 2016 when general manager Don Sweeney took the risk on the St. Louis Missouri born forward at 29th overall in the first round, and many believed it paid off as he quickly became a fan favorite in Boston.
Frederic accumulated 337 games in a Bruins jersey, alongside 307 penalty minutes which developed a strong liking from the fan base in Boston, before Don Sweeney traded him just a week after he stated that he and his Bruins teammates are going to continue fighting for a playoff spot.

The Bruins currently sit five slots away from a Wildcard spot, currently being held by the Detroit Red Wings organization. Every win is crucial at this point in the year,and with the loss of Brad Marchand, things are not trending well.
General manager Don Sweeney must analyze the current state of the Bruins, with the loss of Brad Marchand and now Trent Frederic, identity is much needed alongside two-forward spots now left open.
With several key forwards on the NHL trading block, expect Don Sweeney to be active on March 7 at the trade deadline.
Time will only tell if this deal for Frederic is a plan for something much bigger or if it is a possible time to sell for the organization, Friday's trade deadline will reveal it all.
