Bruins' Rookie Jakub Lauko Scored His First Goal And Gave The Puck To A Special Friend

On November 2, 2022, Jakub Lauko the Boston Bruins 22-year-old rookie, scored his first national hockey league (NHL) goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The goal came after Nick Foligno carried a pick up the left wing before serving Lauko a wide-open goal, It was a big moment for Lauko, and the goal put Boston up a 2-1 at the time.

This was Jakub Lauko's sixth game in the NHL, but he was getting a lot of play time as David Krejci recovered from an upper-body injury. The Bruins fans quickly fell in love with the young Czech, and his popularity increased more after his first goal.
Lauko got the game puck as a souvenir from the game, which is a beautiful tradition teams have followed for decades. Afterwards, he revealed what he did with the puck.

In an amazing heartfelt tribute, Jakub Lauko gave the puck to the parents of a Czech friend named Ondrej Buchtela, that passed away due to cancer.

«I made a promise to my dying friend two years ago I would make it to the NHL. It's going to his mother,» Lauko said, per Joe Haggerty of Boston Hockey Now.
