The Bruins are getting back to 100% healthy again in time for the postseason, but NHL's the salary cap is reportedly keeping one player from returning to the lineup.

Ready but Unable to Return

On a recent episode of Insider Trading, Darren Dreger of TSN shared an interesting update regarding Taylor Hall, who has been on the LTIR since February 28th. As per Dreger:

''Sources say that he [Hall] feels that he is ready. The problem is the Bruins don't have the cap space to activate Taylor Hall.''

According to CapFriendly, the Bruins currently have only $39,062 in cap space remaining.

However, there is a loophole in league rules that allows teams to exceed the salary cap during the playoffs, which could be part of Don Sweeney's strategy all along. It all helped open room for Tyler Bertuzzi to come to Boston at the March 3rd Trade Deadline.

CapFriendly also shared that there is a way that the Bruins could move money around to activate Hall from the injured reserve:

Hall, 31, has been a pleasant surprise fit on the third line this season, as he had 16 goals and 20 assists in 58 games prior to injury.
