March 7th is set to be the trade deadline for the NHL, and based on their play this season, it looks like the Calgary Flames will be buyers this year at the trade deadline.
Scoring issued have continued to be a big problem for the Calgary Flames, they have played in a lot of one-goal games this year.
Depth scoring has been a big concern for the 2024-25 Flames, and a Boston Bruins forward has surfaced as a short-term solution for the Flames this year.
Andrei Kuzumeko has struggled big time for the Flames this year and the team has been bouncing him around in and out of the lineup, he could use a change of scenery to try and find his game again, and could end up being traded this year by the Flames.
One player the Flames could try and trade for involving Kuzumeko in the deal could be a player on TSN Trade Bait board in Boston Bruins Trent Frederic or Justin Brazeau who are both listed in the top 20, and according to Emily Kaplan, the Bruins are open for business.
Both Bruins players are set to be unresetricted free agents following this year, and both carry decent cap hits with Frederic under a $2.3 million contract, and Brazeau is making league minimum at $775,000.
Trent Frederic has been involved in a lot of trade rumours this year, especially since he is set to be a UFA at the end of the year.
With what Trent Frederic brings to the table, a lot of playoff contending teams have been showing interest in him, and now the Calgary Flames are another team to add to the list.
The Bruins have made it clear that if they aren't close to an extension with Frederic as the trade deadline comes closer, he will more than likely be dealt to a different organization, but it's unclear what their intentions are with Justin Brazeau.
