With the Boston Bruins missing major pieces from the regular lineup, it was to be expected they'd draw from the prospects in the AHL to fill spots left by Jake DeBrusk.

Not to mention the team will need someone on the 3rd line right-wing, which someone like Fabian Lysell could've added to.

Instead, Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins made the unpopular decision to send Lysell back into the P-Bruins ranks.

Lysell has proven himself as a 50-point forward in the AHL last season, so it is very puzzling how he was demoted once again.

Lysell is the biggest name here, though. There's no question that his first few days of camp and first preseason game were not good enough. He bounced back in a big way, though, scoring a goal and drawing two penalties in a stellar performance in Tuesday's preseason game, and following that up with another strong outing Saturday. While he didn't find the scoresheet against the Flyers, he did help create four quality scoring chances and effectively used his speed to drive transition play and gain the offensive zone.

And Lysell did all of that while not playing with any top-nine forwards in any of his three preseason games. He did practice on a line with Charlie Coyle and Tyler Johnson (who remains in camp on a professional tryout) on the first two days of camp, and he also skated with Coyle and Brad Marchand at Thursday's practice this past week.

It sounds like Lysell has found himself in the situation that the Bruins need, which is to create plays and find entry into the offensive zone for the Bruins.

Sweeney claims that Lysell will get another chance to make the lineup, and that evaluations are far from over with.

If that IS the case, why would you instead go with a far more defensive forward on the 3rd line with Justin Brazeau, instead of someone who is a playmaker?

Tyler Johnson on a PTO still remains, and so does Mark Kastelic in the training camp roster.

Is Johnson making the team? Cause we all know Kastelic isn't gifted offensively.

Just another puzzling Sweeney decision.
