Brad Marchand finally speaks out following being traded, and issued a heartfelt goodbye to the city of Boston.

Monday morning saw former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand take out a full page ad in the Boston Globe to make sure that all fans heard his final message he wanted to share with to the city that he represented for his entire career.
Marchand has really grown into the man he is today, he is a lot more mature, and wise then he was when he first stepped into the league with the Boston Bruins back in 2009-10, and his goodbye message speaks for it's self.
Here is Brad Marchand's emotional message to the city of Boston and fans:
To Boston,

Thank you for welcoming me into this great city when I was just a young Canadian kid looking to break it into the best league in the world. You allowed me to achieve my dream of playing in the National Hockey League and winning the Stanley Cup. For this I am forever grateful. You also embraced me from day one and immediately brought me into your family. Since that time, I have become a husband and a father to a beautiful family. My family is your family: we are Bostonians now and forever.

Representing this city as captain of the Boston Bruins was the greatest honor of my life, and it was a privilege to wear the spoked b over the past 16 years. Boston will always be a part of me, and it will always be a part of my family. There are far too many people I want to thank to be able to include in this short note, but just know how grateful I am for the time I spent in Boston playing for the Bruins.

Thank you.
This message is only going to fuel the heartbreak of Bruins fans. Many fans believe that the Boston Bruins did not get the return they wanted to for their former captain.
It's definitely an end of an era in Boston with Marchand being traded, but now the team will look to retool and be competitive again in the future.
