Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson mysteriously disappeared during the game against the Boston Bruins yesterday.

Yesterday's game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins took an unexpected twist when Flyers goalie Samuel Ersson left in the first period.

The Flyers have struggled early in the 2024-25 season, especially with goaltending, but Ersson has been a bright spot lately. However, he left the game unexpectedly, raising concerns as a message from GM Danny Brière followed his exit-something unusual compared to the typical updates from coaches or the PR team.

Please see the following update from Flyers General Manager Daniel Briere:

. We hope to have more information after the game.

After the game, head coach John Tortorella shared a brief update, stating Ersson had a «lower body injury» but admitted he didn't have further details, saying he hadn't yet spoken with the medical staff.

Ersson, now in his third season with Philadelphia, has become a key player, transitioning from backup to starter after Carter Hart's departure. With standout rookie Matvei Michkov making an impact, the Flyers hope for a playoff push, though they've also sent 2024 first-round pick Jett Luchanko back to the OHL's Guelph Storm for development.

Here's hoping Ersson's injury is minor, but with little information currently available, the situation remains unclear. We'll follow this story closely for updates.
