Yesterday, the Boston Bruins embarked on a journey to Edmonton to take on the Oilers, setting the stage for a special reunion between forward Jake DeBrusk and his father, Louie DeBrusk, a former member of the Oilers.

Born in Edmonton during his father's tenure with the team in 1996, Jake's return to his birthplace holds sentimental significance, reflecting on his childhood admiration for the Oilers and his subsequent NHL career.

Prior to the game, Louie, now a Sportsnet commentator, shared a heartwarming moment with his son, reminiscing about a childhood promise involving push-ups if Jake failed to contribute points.

"It's always special for me to come back," DeBrusk reflected after the Bruins' morning skate. "I don't get to see the rest of my family and stuff like that for 90% of the year, so it's always special for me to fit everything in. These are special games for me."

Despite recent scoreless streaks, Jake found added motivation to shine against his hometown team, buoyed by his father's endearing gesture.
