With news of a lack of communication between the Boston Bruins and Goalie Jeremy Swayman, could it leave a void for a rival to step in?

Since Jeremy Swayman refused to go to arbitration after his negative experience last time, that leaves an interesting choice for another NHL team to pursue.

Since he's elected to forego arbitration, he is capable of receiving an offer sheet from another NHL club.

Would the Montreal Canadiens step in and offer sheet Jeremy Swayman, just to make Don Sweeney's life more difficult? According to TVA Sports of Montreal, they could.

"Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins can now receive a hostile offer from other National Hockey League teams, including the Montreal Canadiens,

NESN reported Saturday after the 5 p.m. deadline to request the involvement of an arbitrator in contract negotiations passed." - TVA Sports
According to the goalie, the arbitration process went badly for Swayman and wouldn't like to relive that experience.

He has elected to forego arbitration for that experience alone, hearing his own team speak negatively about him.

"I'm trying very hard not to panic about the Bruins trading Swayman's two best friends and then potentially pissing him off at the contract table AGAIN!" - Pete Blackburn

«Of course I'm going to be upset in situations. I'm a human being,» said Swayman. «And I'm OK with that. That's something I've worked on since college. It's having these emotions, recognizing them and using them to an advantage. Not going complete red brain.»

According to NHL Insider Ty Anderson of 98.5 Boston's Sports Hub teams will have to put up significant money for an offer sheet:

"According to 98.5 The Sports Hub reporter Ty Anderson, a club must be able to put $9.1 million on the table to counter Boston.

This is particularly the case for the CH, which also has the necessary draft picks." - TVA Sports

Swayman's been a great netminder during his time in Boston and has been a stellar playoff performer.

The 6'3", 200 LB goalie has a record of 85-38, 2.32 GAA, and a career save percentage of .921%

His 2024 playoff performance was even better with a 2.15 GAA and a .933% save percentage.
