In a recent piece on The Bleacher Report, Lyle Richardson brought up an interesting point - could Jeremy Swayman be a surprise trade candidate for the upcoming 2023-24 season?

Richardson included Swayman in his list of players who might end up on the trading block.

He highlighted the fact that Swayman's name popped up in trade rumors during the offseason and suggested that he could be a valuable asset to dangle in exchange for a top-six center.

It's worth noting that Swayman doesn't have any trade protection, and he's set to become a restricted free agent (RFA) with arbitration rights this summer.

In contrast, Linus Ullmark carries a higher cap hit at $5 million and has a 16-team no-trade list, making him a more complex piece to move.

However, personally, I believe the Bruins should think twice before parting with Swayman. He's demonstrated in his brief career that he possesses the potential to be the team's long-term starting goaltender.

In contrast, Ullmark's contract is set for just two more years, leaving his future with the team less certain.
