A Ridiculous Trade Proposal Emerged Involving Boston Bruins Superstar David Pastrnak
Trade proposals are often ridiculous, and fantastical things, and this one involving David Pastrnak and the Ottawa Senators is beyond ridiculous.
One fan who has gone unnamed, recently sent in a question to ProHockeyRumors which addressed possible trade scenarios.
One of them involved sending David Pastrnak from the Boston Bruins and would receive Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators in return.
The idea is ridiculous from the start, as both players are franchise players and the Senators have never once thought about moving on from Brady Tkachuk.
There were rumors earlier in the year, that the Rangers were interested in Tkachuk, but they were shot down quickly by the Senators.
Owner Michael Andlauer earlier this year:
"Here's my frustration: I talk about how I care for these players, and I care for their families - you make a commitment to a team for six, seven years, you set roots in the community, you're part of this community, there's a lot of pressure on these young men,» Andlauer told Pierre LeBrun. «Yes, people might say they make millions of dollars, but the reality is there comes a responsibility with that.
«And when I see our captain, in the one year I've been here [as Senators owner], there's been three separate occasions where there's been fires we had to put out. I can tell you 100 percent there's never actually been an ounce of discussion about Brady Tkachuk being anything other than an Ottawa Senator.»
While Tkachuk embodies the Bruins in spirit through his play, the Bruins would never want to lose more firepower up top.
Pastrnak is a sniper and a playmaker which you don't find a lot of those on NHL rosters. He ranks 26th overall in the Bruins goals-scored overall, and Tkachuk even though he's a point-per-game player couldn't replicate that production.
The Senators are going through a rebuild, and Pastrnak wouldn't fit their timeline, and even losing someone like Tkachuk wouldn't even be replaced.
Josh Norris is the closest player to his prototype, and wouldn't be able to produce at the same clip.
This is just another kind of trade that people make on EA NHL, and wish it'd happen in real life.
Would the Bruins trade Pastrnak? Ridiculous.
