Boston Bruins fans continue to lament the ongoing Jeremy Swayman situation, which hasn't been resolved by GM Don Sweeney and company.

Swayman however, has been in Boston most of the summer, and the way he's been talking ready to stay in Boston as long as he can.

He's been at the Jimmy Fund and seen in Brighton at the Warrior Ice Arena, skating with teammates and Bruins staff. Also, Swayman made an appearance in July during the development camp.

But Swayman did his best to reassure Bruins fans everywhere that he's here long-term, was on the Jimmy Fund Telethon run by WEEI/NESN told fans that he has confidence a deal will be done soon.

«There's a lot of confidence,» Swayman said. «And I say that because I've treated it like business as usual this year. I've been at Warrior, I've been working out with our guys, our staff, our players. And I know that there's something special building in this locker room this year, and I can't be more excited about that.

«I know that it will take care of itself with time, and all I can do is control how I'm going to be a better goalie for the Boston Bruins this year. So, that's all I'm focused on. And I know, again, it will work out, and I couldn't be happier to be a Bruin.»

Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs also expressed confidence that a deal would be completed soon on WEEI's Gresh and Fauria, despite 32TP's Elliote Friedman's reports stating otherwise.

This drove many fans to be concerned:

«The last I heard, they weren't close. I think this has been a bit of a challenging negotiation, but they've still got time.» But Friedman also acknowledged that he hasn't been «bugging people» about Swayman too much recently.

With the St. Louis Blues offer sheeting two Edmonton Oilers players this week, it should be a wake-up call for GM Don Sweeney to get the deal done.

While the compensation for Broberg and Holloway was a 2nd and 3rd round pick, a team would have to offer more than $9 Million a year, and many cup-contending teams don't have that kind of cash.

Only the Detroit Red Wings, Nashville Predators, Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers, and Seattle Kraken have that kind of cash.

Offer sheets are rare enough that we wouldn't see one for Sway, but with Bruins training camp starting on September 18th, the team needs to prioritize Swayman's deal.
