Jim Montgomery, the head coach of the Boston Bruins just announced their starting goaltender for tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

The Boston Bruins are hosting the Montreal Canadiens tonight at TD Garden for their home opening game, and Jim Montgomery has revealed who is going to guard the cage for the Bruins tonight.

During their first game against the Florida Panthers they got embarrassed in a 6-4 loss. The team in front especially the defence looked horrible, and so did Joonas Korpisalo who let in a couple weak goals.

This morning at morning skate, Jim Montgomery already announced some changes to the defensive pairings, and he is doing the same thing with his goaltender.

Jim Montgomery announced that Jeremy Swayman will be starting for the Boston Bruins in their home opener tonight against the Montreal Canadiens.

Jeremy Swayman starts tonight.

There was a chance Jeremy Swayman was going to start the opening season game for the Boston Bruins, but after missing all of training camp the Boston Bruins thought it was best to go with Joonas Korpisalo.

Swayman missed all of camp due to contract negotiations with the team, and officially signed a deal two days before the regular season started.

Many believed the contract negotiations were going to take until close to the December 1st deadline, especially after the Bruins took contract negotiations public, but ultimately they ended up getting a deal done.

Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. tonight

Do you think Jeremy Swayman is a true number one goaltender?
