The Boston Bruins secured a single point in their matchup against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, and Coach Jim Montgomery found some positives in the effort.

Reflecting on the 4-3 overtime loss, Montgomery expressed satisfaction with the team's competitiveness.

"I do like our compete,"
he remarked.
"I love the fact that we got that point. I love the way our goaltender competed again."

The Bruins pushed the game to overtime with strong play down low from key players. Charlie Coyle's strategic positioning drew a critical high-sticking call on Alex Goligoski at 17:29 of the third period. Trailing 3-2 at the time, the Bruins equalized with a goal from Brad Marchand amid chaotic crease action around Marc-Andre Fleury, who found himself using Connor Dewar's stick after losing his own battle ax.

However, the Bruins missed out on the extra point in overtime. Jake DeBrusk's initial shot veered wide of the net, marking his first misstep. Compounding the error, DeBrusk ventured deep into the offensive zone on an extended skate.

The Wild capitalized on the opportunity, transitioning quickly. Kirill Kaprizov sealed the deal by converting Joel Eriksson Ek's slot-line pass, leaving Linus Ullmark with no chance.

Montgomery wasn't shy about critiquing DeBrusk's attempt, stating,

"Got to get that on net. I don't like the shot selection. And I don't like both guys going to the net, going all the way to the goal line. That's what gives up the three-on-one the other way."

Some might argue that the Bruins were fortunate to secure the lone point, as their performance in the third period didn't reflect a team hungry for the win.
