The NHL season is right around the corner, and the Bruins will have many players battling for a roster spot come opening night.
With the NHL regular season right around the corner, we are just days away from the prospect challenge in Buffalo. Yesterday rookie camp started for the Boston Bruins, and the Bruins released their roster, and it had two surprises.
Fans right away noticed that two big named Bruins prospects were not on the roster for rookie camp, and were confused on why.
The two players that were not in the roster were Fabian Lysell, and Georgii Merkulov.
Yesterday during the afternoon, Providence Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenel spoke to the media and revealed that Fabian Lysell, and Georgii Merkulov are being held from the roster so they have a better chance at fighting for a roster spot during training camp.
The Boston Bruins lost some big names during the off-season, and instead of making a trade or signing players during free agency, the Bruins want to replace those players with players in the organization.
This gives Lysell, and Merkulov a good shot at making the opening night roster.
