The Boston Bruins have Brad Marchand on ice and skating during the Captain's practice this week at Warrior Ice Arena.

Marchand is the spiritual successor to Patrice Bergeron, who was the last Bruins player to wear the "C".

He has success in mind, but of course, he will need to consider his own health first. While he's begun to skate this week at Warrior Ice Arena, he hasn't been cleared to practice by doctors yet.

Marchand hopes to be cleared to return to play after training camp.

His off-season has been particularly brutal, undergoing three surgeries, including a sports hernia, groin surgery, and elbow.

So, needless to say, he is working towards a full recovery.

«I had three surgeries this summer,» Marchand told reporters after Tuesday's captain's practice at Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton. «So I didn't do a whole lot of training until about two weeks ago. I'm just kinda getting back into it. The goal is to try to be ready for camp or if not shortly after. I'm getting back in the swing of things now. Gonna hit it all head on."

In 2023-2024, the Bruins Captain scored 67 points( 29 G, 38 A) in 82 games all the while playing through injuries.

This will be his 16th season wearing Black and Gold and made his NHL debut in 2009-2010.
