Jim Montgomery called out David Pastrnak and also revealed why he did not see one minute of ice time in the third period against the Seattle Kraken.

Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery has shown that he isn't afraid to be confrontational with his star players, a prime example was the situation with Marchand in Utah, and calling out Pastrnak during the playoffs last year, and he did exactly that again tonight against the Seattle Kraken.

Many people speculated that David Pastrnak may have injured himself during the game as he did not see a second of ice time during the third period, but following the game Jim Montgomery cleared the air and revealed that he was not dealing with an injury, but that it was his decision to keep David Pastrnak on the bench for the whole period.

Some fans and people may not be a fan of this move, and may think it was a bit controversial, but the Boston Bruins ended up maintaining their 2 goal lead to beat the Seattle Kraken 2-0.

Montgomery did not say too much on why he decided to bench David Pastrnak, but this is what he had to say:

"Coach's decision in the third period," said Montgomery after the game. "That's all I'm gonna comment on."

David Pastrnak had 7 shots on goal against the Kraken, but he did not find the back of the net even though he had some quality chances. Here is one of the chances Pastrnak got early on into the game:

There is some speculation that the benching may have to do with David Pastrnak having three giveaways in the first two periods, but Montgomery would not reveal the actual reason.

Pastrnak had three giveaways in the first two periods. Might have something to do with it. Hasn't been very good for a while

In the past after Jim Montgomery has called out his star players, it has worked, and the Bruins are hopeful that it kicks Pastrnak back into gear, and he finds his game soon, as he will be a big piece heading forward for the Bruins.
