In a recent statement, Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice brushed off concerns about a play involving his player Sam Bennett and Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand during game 3.

When asked about the incident, Maurice remarked,

"No, and I don't think most of you would either. It was just a collision. In a perfect world, every team has everybody healthy. Nobody likes to see anybody hurt."

This comment downplays the severity of the event, which left Marchand injured.

Adding complexity to the situation, a video surfaced today showing Bennett engaging in a similar action last year against Matthew Knies of the Toronto Maple Leafs during the playoffs.

Pretty much the same exact play from Bennett last year. Certainly looks like a go-to move for him.

Despite the pattern of behavior, there has been an announcement that no disciplinary action will be taken against Bennett for the play that injured Marchand.

Hearing no supplemental discipline for Bennett

This decision and Maurice's casual dismissal of the incident have stirred discussions and raised questions about consistency and player safety in the NHL.
