Scary scene strikes former Boston Bruins players brother during first period

A scary scene developed during the first period of the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers opening night game.

Towards the end of the first period, Nikita Zadorov took a run at Matthew Tkachuk, and got a penalty for cross-checking. During the penalty kill a scary scene developed for former Boston Bruins players brother.

Brandon Carlo went to clear the puck out of the Boston Bruins zone while on the penalty kill and hit Adam Boqvist, the brother of Jesper Boqvist right in the face.

It was a scary scene at first as it looked liked Boqvist was laying motionless on the ice for a couple of seconds, but would get up on his own, covered in blood, and leave the ice with a bit of help.

Adam Boqvist took a puck to the face on a clearing attempt while the #FlaPanthers were on the power play. He heads straight to the dressing room.

Boston immediately proceeds to score a shorthanded goal.

Panthers' lead cut to 2-1 with 4:27 left in the first period.

During the Bruins penalty kill, they would go on to score their first goal of the year shorthanded. Pavel Zacha picked the corner on Bobrovsky off of a feed from Elias Lindholm, who also picked up his first point with the Boston Bruins.

2-1 game.

The Florida Panthers would go on to score two more goals and make it a 4-1 game at the end of the first period.
