Six teams linked to acquiring Boston Bruins forward James Van Riemsdyk
Six teams have been linked to Boston Bruins forward James Van Riemsdyk.
James Van Riemsdyk's fate with the Boston Bruins was just confirmed, and he will not be returning to the Bruins next season, instead he has been linked to six different teams as he is currently a free agent.
JVR made it clear that he still does intend to play in the upcoming 2024-25 season but has yet to be given a contract, but he currently sits as one of the top free agents left on the board.
The Bruins decided to not offer JVR a contract once free agency opened, and he has yet to sign a contract with any other team, but he may sign one soon as there are reportedly six teams that are interested in him.
I've heard the Devils are one of six teams that would have interest in JVR playing on a one-season deal. The Wild are still a possibility. So is a return to the Bruins. Other potential destinations if playing close to home doesn't work out: Anaheim, Tampa, Vegas.
The possibility of the JVR returning to the Bruins hasn't been scratched off the board yet, but it seems unlikely they are going to offer him a contract as they need to use the cap space to sign Jeremy Swayman.
