Surprising NHL Head Coach Has Officially Been Fired
In a surprising move during the All-Star break, the Los Angeles Kings have parted ways with head coach Todd McLellan, replacing him with interim coach Jim Hiller for the remainder of the season.
The decision comes after a challenging January for the Kings, going 3-7-5 and slipping to the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference. McLellan, in his fifth season, led the team to the playoffs the past two years but faced early exits.
Hiller, a respected member of the staff, takes the reins, having been with the Kings organization since July 2022. This marks the 13th NHL head coaching change since last season.
