A concerning update was just issued by the Boston Bruins on defenseman Charlie McAvoy and it's not good at all.

The Boston Bruins got some big news today after it was revealed that Jeremy Swayman returned back to practice after missing their previous game against the Ottawa Senators due to an injury.

Joe Sacco revealed that Jeremy Swayman could be an option for their game tomorrow against the Colorado Avalanche.

Swayman looks like he'll be an option for Saturday, per Sacco

The Bruins may also be getting Cole Koepke back tomorrow as well after he practiced with the team today, and Joe Sacco stated he may be good to go!

Sacco: Swayman should be an option for tomorrow. Koepke could be.

On the other hand, the Bruins got some bad news regarding star defenseman Charlie McAvoy today.

Charlie McAvoy was dealing with a lingering injury, and has not appeared in a game for the Boston Bruins since their last meeting against the Florida Panthers when the Moms Trip took place this season.

Joe Sacco stated that last weekend McAvoy was supposed to reevaluated, and since then he has missed multiple practices and skates with the Bruins.

Today Charlie McAvoy once again missed practice for the Bruins, and it doesn't appear he will be returning to their lineup anytime soon.

Jeremy Swayman is present and accounted for at Bruins practice.

No Charlie McAvoy. Hampus Lindholm is participating in a red, non-contact sweater.

Do you think the Boston Bruins will make the playoffs if star defenseman Charlie McAvoy is out long-term?
