Contract Extensions Were Just Leaked For 6 Different Boston Bruins Players

The Boston Bruins and GM Don Sweeney should do their best to maintain the talent pool they have. One reason? Just in case they have to ship anyone out this post-season, and to maintain the chemistry in the lineup.

Of these 6 players are prominent trade candidates, like Justin Brazeau, and Trent Frederic who we could see dealt by March.

But for now, nothing has happened yet, and if there have been discussions regarding these players maybe Sweeney is planning on extending them.

One is the Bruins Captain, who unless Sweeney receives a really good offer for should extend him in order to maintain continuity of leadership in the locker room.

If you were GM Don Sweeney of the Bruins who would you extend immediately?

Marchand seems like a no-brainer given his return to form, despite having three surgeries during the postseason.

In 48 games played with the Bruins, he's scored 37 points( 17 G, 20 A), and officially that we know of doesn't have an extension in hand.

While Morgan Geekie, was one of the Bruins' bright spots last season, has scored 22 points( 11 G, 11 A) and could end-up turning things around with Head Coach Joe Sacco in charge.

It's hard telling who the bruins will prioritize, but these six players could very well be signed at the end of the season if Sweeney wants to maintain the status quo.

But this could all change when March rolls around.
