Most recent reports from NHL insiders and writers have the Boston Bruins as owning one of, if not the worst, prospect pool in the entire league.

The Bruins have attempted to be a steady contender for over a decade, and deservedly so far, players like Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Brad Marchand. To do that, however, Boston has had to give up draft picks to keep that window open.

Not As Bad As It Seems

Since Don Sweeney took over as general manager, there are not a lot of draft picks to be excited about (i.e. The 2015 first round). After already signing an ATO with Providence Bruins of the AHL, it appears as though Boston may have found a gem in the 2022 Draft:

Frederic Brunet was drafted in the fifth round (132nd overall) by the Bruins from the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL. The 19-year-old finished second in points by a defenseman with 16 goals and 57 assists in 66 games.

Brunet split this season with Rimouski and the Victoriaville Tigres, where he put up 38 points in 30 games to end the season.
