Unexpected Bruins player has begun contract talks with the Boston Bruins

An unexpected player has officially begun contract talks with the Boston Bruins.

The Boston Bruins are looking to get faster in the off-season but following a recent report by David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period it looks like they will be keeping one of their veterans around.

David Pagnotta has reported that the Boston Bruins and Danton Heinen's camp will begin discussions to work on getting a contract extension in place.

The Boston Bruins have 9 pending UFA's and if they can get a deal done with Heinen that will take him off the free agent's list come July 1st.

Don Sweeney made it clear that the Boston Bruins want to get faster and bring in some players from free agency that will complete the Bruins on the team but also bring in some secondary scoring, but the Bruins still need depth pieces and Heinen is the perfect fit for that.
