Blackhawks GM Reveals Details Regarding Perry And Bedard's Mom

NHL veteran Corey Perry finds himself on waivers today, and the Chicago Blackhawks have made it known that if he successfully clears waivers, his contract will be terminated by the club.

The team's official statement on the matter includes a stark acknowledgment of the severity of Perry's actions:

"BIG YIKES.

It's clear that Perry messed up LARGE. No details yet on what exactly transpired, though. What we do know is that last week Perry left the Blackhawks due to what the team is calling an 'organizational decision'."

In a subsequent media address, GM Kyle Davidson clarified that Perry's contract termination is unrelated to rumors circulating about Perry and Connor Bedard's mother, Melanie Bedard.

"Earlier this week on social media sites like Reddit and Twitter, there was a hot rumor making the rounds that Perry actually hooked up with Melanie Bedard, mother of Blackhawks superstar rookie Connor Bedard."

The rumor, however, was promptly dismissed by Blackhawks insider Charlie Roumelioutis:

"And today NHL insider Frank Seravalli squashed the rumor in no uncertain terms, calling it, 'f*ing bullst.'"

Seravalli emphasized the unfairness of the circulated information:

"The stuff that's been floating around about Corey Perry and one of his teammates' mothers is f*ing bullst. And I think it's ridiculous that this is something that was perpetuated on social media. It is so far from the truth and so unfair."

He added a note about Connor Bedard's character:

"Connor Bedard... he was raised right. His parents are really polite, proper people. There's zero chance that something like this would happen, and yet it will stick with him for a long time."

This, combined with GM Davidson's report, strongly indicates that the contract termination is unrelated to the rumored incident between Perry and Melanie Bedard.
