The Chicago Blackhawks have received a major boost as they prepare for a Monday showdown in Toronto.

Having played against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, the Blackhawks made their way to Toronto for a highly anticipated game against the undefeated Toronto Maple Leafs. The biggest surprise during their practice was the return of forward Taylor Hall, who had been sidelined since a collision with Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo during last Wednesday's game. At the time, the Blackhawks had announced that Hall would be out "week to week."

Speculation had initially revolved around a possible concussion due to the extended absence, but Hall clarified on Sunday that the injury was related to his shoulder.

"Was it a hit to the head? Maybe, but I passed the concussion protocol with ease," Hall explained, as reported by NBC Sports. "It's just dealing with a shoulder thing. That's hockey, that's how it goes, and at the end of the day, you've got to control the spots you put yourself in on the ice."

To the surprise of many, Hall confidently declared himself ready for action on Monday, returning after just a single missed game.

"I don't set the timelines for injuries, but I've seen guys come back from my injury pretty quickly," Hall admitted. "I was always just thinking, 'Maybe take a game off and see if I can play in Toronto,' and I think I'll be able to do that."

This development comes as significant news for the Blackhawks, who had initially anticipated a more extended absence for Hall. They'll be looking to harness his presence as they aim to hand the Maple Leafs their first loss of the regular season.
