BREAKING NEWS - 2x Stanley Cup Champion Retires at The Age of 36
After a successful career spanning over 800 games, Darren Helm, a veteran player and two-time Stanley Cup winner, has decided to retire from professional hockey.
Selected 132nd overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2005 draft, Helm established himself as a valuable bottom-six forward throughout his time in the NHL.
At the age of 36, Helm officially announced his retirement today, drawing the curtain on his hockey journey.
During his career, Helm recorded a total of 266 points in 823 NHL games, along with 26 points in 103 playoff games. He celebrated his first Stanley Cup victory in 2008 as a rookie with the Red Wings and secured his second and final Cup win with the Avalanche in 2022.
Helm's retirement marks the end of an impressive career, and his contributions to championship teams will be remembered by fans and fellow players alike.
