Another Player Set To Be Suspended Following Dangerous Play
Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman has come under the scrutiny of the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety following an incident during today's game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Despite going unnoticed by on-ice officials in real-time, the league, upon review, has announced that Hartman will be subject to further discipline for a slew-foot delivered to Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat on Sunday.
Hartman skillfully concealed his actions from on-ice officials, leading to the only penalty on the play being a retaliatory crosscheck by DeBrincat.
However, replay technology has brought the incident to the league's attention, prompting a hearing for Hartman on Monday.
With no penalty called against him during the game, a suspension is likely, and the struggling Wild, currently on a 7-game losing streak, may have to face future games without Hartman.
For those who missed the incident, a comprehensive replay angle of the slew-foot is available for review.
