Ottawa Senators send the Boston Bruins a message after signing Linus Ullmark to a contract extension
Former Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark copied Jeremy Swayman's recent contract extension. The Ottawa Senators sent a message by revealing how easy it was to sign Linus Ullmark without any drama involved.
Linus Ullmark, and Jeremy Swayman were really close in Boston. Although they might not be hugging it out anymore, the two are finding ways to stay connected.
It was just announced that Linus Ullmark has signed a four year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators, with the exact same value as Jeremy Swayman's contract extension at an AAV of $8.25 million.

This is the exact same contract that Jeremy Swayman signed with the Boston Bruins just a couple days ago, just a shorter-term deal.
Jeremy Swayman will receive $66 million in total throughout his 8-year contract, where as Linus Ullmark will recieve $33 million throughout his 4-year contract.
The Boston Bruins wanted to keep both goaltenders, but they wanted to try and be a more competitive team this season, and having $12-13 million locked up in just your goaltenders would have made it hard.
So they decided it was best to trade Linus Ullmark, and he ended up going to the Ottawa Senators.
In return the Boston Bruins got goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, forward Mark astelic, and the 25th overall first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Level Draft.
Linus Ullmark is still under contract this year at $5 million, and his contract extension will not kick in until the 2025-26 season begins.
Linus Ullmark is prepared to make his Ottawa Senators debut with the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night when the club will face the Florida Panthers at the Canadian Tire Centre.
His return to TD Garden is scheduled for November 9th. Mark this down on your calendars.
