It's been a remarkable week in the hockey goaltending realm. First, in an American Hockey League game, Strauss Mann of the Laval Rocket achieved an extraordinary feat by scoring a goal. This occurred after he was the last player to touch the puck before the opposing team inadvertently placed it in their own net during a delayed penalty.

Then, in an ICEHL match on Friday, featuring teams from Austria, Hungary, Italy, and Slovenia, a goalie fight took center stage, featuring former NHL player Niklas Svedberg.

Following a post-whistle skirmish between HC Bolzano and Steinbach Black Wings Linz, Niklas Svedberg, unimpeded by officials, took on Rasmus Tirronen, a former member of the Carolina Hurricanes organization. In contrast to the NHL, where referees intervene to prevent goalies from dropping the gloves, this time, they allowed Svedberg and Tirronen to briefly engage in a fight. Although the tussle was short-lived, it added an intriguing spark to the game.

While fighting is gradually becoming less common in hockey, witnessing two goaltenders briefly set aside their gear to engage in a fight remains a captivating spectacle, often serving as a source of motivation for their teams.
