It was quite a big day for Patrice Bergeron on Saturday.
Not only was the Bruins captain making a comeback after sitting out the past four games with an upper-body injury, but he also added his name in the NHL's history books.
When the Bruins took on the Islanders in a matinee game at the Garden, Bergy threw on his Bruins jersey for the 1200th game of his career.
That places the captain in the third overall spot for most games played in franchise history. Only Ray Bourque (1518) and Johnny Bucyk (1436) have played more games in a Bruins uniform than Bergeron.
The first line center reached an NHL milestone that not many players have had the chance to attain. Bergy became just the 120th player in NHL history to reach the 1200-game mark.
Bergeron helped the Bruins top the Isles by a 6-3 score, picking up his 29th assist of the season along the way.
