The Boston Bruins are off to a historic 16-2-0 record to start the 2022-23 season, and a large part of that is due to head coach Jim Montgomery reuniting ''The Perfection Line'' of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak.
Pastrnak (2G), Marchand (3A) and Bergeron (1G, 1A) combined for seven points in a 6-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night, but that's not even the impressive part.
The trio factored in on Pasta's 10th goal of the season to open the scoring last night, which happened to be a milestone occasion. With the goal, the three moved into second all-time on a franchise leaderboard.
''David Pastrnak (1-01), Brad Marchand (0-11) and Patrice Bergeron (0-11) all factored on the same goal for the 88th time, the second most by a trio in Bruins history behind only Ken Hodge, Phil Esposito and Wayne Cashman (103). Pastrnak, Marchand and Bergeron passed John McKenzie, Fred Stanfield and Johnny Bucyk (87) with the 1-0 goal.''
